Charity

YOU DON'T NEED A REASON TO HELP PEOPLE...

The heart in Style & Heart Co. reflects our dedication to charity & humanitarianism - we want to be able to share our successes by helping those most in need. Partaking in charities and humanitarian efforts is something that we have always been passionate about. We had our share of ups and downs in life and knowing exactly what it is like to lose everything you have and spending years rebuilding is something that cannot be forgotten. Many times life takes us though paths we least expect and serves us with conflict, hardships, and illnesses we are not deserving of — but they are all stages of life we must go through — and we should not have to go through them alone!'

Our partnerships and efforts will be posted on the page — for you to see and hopefully partake. As we open our shop and begin selling product, we will design a system through which a portion of your purchase will be directed to support local charities and humanitarian efforts. Education is one of our great interests and will be one of our biggest priorities when it comes to offering assistance.

FALL 2015 - American Cancer Society's 'Relay for Life' event at Western Kentucky University Western Kentucky University holds an annual Relay for Life event and this year Style&Heart was fortunate enough to participate. We recruited several volunteers to help our team raise money towards cancer research and treatment. Pictured above are Adela Hasic, Lejla Mujici, Sabina Husic and Sanida Palavra. With the rest of our team, these ladies helped us put together bake sales and sell our very own S&H Relay for Life 2015 tees. With the help of our fabulous team, we were able to raise over $560 in funds to donate towards the American Cancer Society's research and treatment efforts. We thank everyone who participated even in the smallest way possible - we truly appreciate you!

SPRING 2015 - International Center of Kentucky - Bowling Green, KY (one of my visits to drop off donations collected from various families in the community). For our Spring Cleaning Event this year, we teamed up with the International Center of Kentucky to help channel donations from various spring cleaning and yard sale events families were holding throughout the community. The ICK of Bowling Green receives approximately 20 new refugees per month from many different countries such as Burma, Nepal, Somalia, Iraq, and Cuba just to name a few.  The above photo shows an Iraqi family of four that arrived to Bowling Green, KY only two days prior to taking of this photo. The family came to the ICK for their initial registration and enrollment into various programs the center has organized for them. In the photo, the two brothers show that sharing in the most important thing one can do, even if you only have pieces of a breakfast snack to offer.

SUMMER 2014 - Flood Relief Fundraiser Dinner - June 2014 at La Gala in Bowling Green, KY. (photo: Dijana Muminovic) When one third of a small country in the heart of Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina, was flooded and many parts completely destroyed, a small group of local individuals came together to raise awareness and collect funds to help this country rebuild. This has been one of the most humbling and rewarding humanitarian efforts in which I was honored to participate.
